The annual winter bazaar at GCHS is a time for the CTE classes to come together and showcase to their community how the skills they learned at school can be applied to the real world. It is one of the events that classes look forward to at the start of the year. “We were [made] aware of it on basically the first day of class,” shared Kori Gaines, a senior in the business startups class that sold GCHS themed tree ornaments.
These students worked tirelessly in and out of class to get products ready for the Winter Bazaar that was held on December 7th. “We worked on everything for about 2 weeks,” stated William Glass, a welding student.
Students learned about the benefits of second chances from this process. “We designed products that took multiple drafts to get right— we had many hiccups and roadblocks, but we ultimately got over them and ended up raising a good amount of money for the school,” stated Gaines.
The Winter Bazaar showcased the many talents at GCHS. Students were also allowed to sell products independently from CTE classes as a way to provide a platform for their small business.
Student photographers Alicia Sanchez and Leo Flores provide an inside look at the whole process of the Winter Bazaar.
