Some students struggle with mental health issues, and unfortunately, if they go untreated, these struggles can sometimes lead to tragic deaths.. There are plenty of staff in the GCHS building that are experienced in working with students to help improve their mental health.
Rebecca Martin is a member of the GCHS counseling department, and she has a deep desire to help students. “To help a student in need, I would first start with finding the root cause of what is bothering them. From there, I would help the student come up with solutions to help control the negative emotions,” said Martin. Martin is accessible through the various QR codes posted around the school to set up a meeting, or students can stop in the counseling office and request to speak with her.
Zach Goble is a psychologist here at Great Crossing High School and specializes in helping students with their mental health. “I take the time with students to give them support or anything else they would need,” he explained. Goble is also within easy reach. Students can email him at [email protected] to arrange a meeting time in his office located on the third floor.
